Don’t forget that the last week of school are all half days! We will be walking over to Sonic on Friday after awards for our end of the year party. Parents are welcomed to go and you are free to go when they are ready to leave. I have loved having you all in my class! Have a great summer and have fun in middle school!
This is our last full week of school and it is going to be packed full of learning. Tests will be Wednesday through Friday to finish out our semester. Tuesday is our field day. Students may wear shorts to the knees and Christian or TCS t-shirts. Please bring water bottles and a bagged lunch. We will have some class time before and after the field day events. I am so proud of each and every one of you and all of your hard work this year. Let’s finish strong this week!
Just a reminder that we are having our class field trip this Friday. We will be going to the NC Estuarium in Washington as well as the Skate Track in Chocowinity. Dress code is regular Friday attire. We will leave the school at 9:15 and be returning around 2:45. Lunch is up to the student. Either a bagged lunch from home or they can order lunch at the skate track. The $15 will be applied to your FACTS account. The students have worked hard this year. I know they are looking forward to a day of fun!
There was no doubt that Trinity Christian School was at the fine arts competition last week to represent. We had 13 placings in the state as a school as well as 6 placings in the eastern region. The following winners were from the 5th grade: Jordan Puryear-1st place 5th grade spelling bee as well as 1st place in Eastern region for 5th grade English academic testing. Jessica Pinkham and Morgan Wynn placed 2nd in 5th grade sword drill. Morgan also placed 3rd in the region for 5th grade History academic testing. Logan Joyner placed 2nd in the region for 5th grade Math academic testing. Connor Shipman placed 2nd in the science fair. Sam Payne placed 3rd in 5th/6th grade photography and Hannah Grady placed 3rd in 5th/6th grade painting. Although not placing, our small ensemble and 5th and 6th grade choir did an excellent job as well. Also doing great jobs were Logan Joyner and Tara Davis in the science fair, Emma Lewis in the spelling bee, as well as several art entries from 5th grade students. Congratulations to all of our winners!
Fine Arts will be April 24th-25th at Faith Christian Academy in Goldsboro. Students attending on Thursday should be at the school by 7:00 wearing Sunday clothes. Boys, don’t forget the tie! On Friday, students should be here by 7:45. Girls are to wear black skirts, white shirts, and dress shoes. Boys need black pants, white shirt, and a dark tie.
Remember why we celebrate this wonderful holiday! Have a great long weekend!
Parents will be contacted about bringing food for the party, but I wanted to make sure everyone knew about our own special egg hunt. Students are to stuff plastic eggs with candy or other treats and number the eggs from 1-25. During the hunt, students can only look for their number. Don’t forget the basket or bag to carry your goodies home!
Make sure you get plenty of rest, eat a good breakfast, and have those #2 pencils ready for next week’s achievement tests!
Nine more weeks of elementary school! Finish strong, do your very best, and honor God in all you do!
Our elementary classes had five students who placed overall in the state. One of those students was our very own Jordan Puryear who placed 2nd in the state in 5th grade English. Congratulations to all of our students for a great job!
